12 February is the anniversary of the Spanish Civil War battle of Jarama,
immortalised in song and verse as the hymn of the 15th Brigade of the
International Brigades.
The 15th Brigade consisted mainly of British
and Irish volunteers, fighting to defend the Spanish Republic from
Franco's fascists. Many came from London's East End and had begun their
political commitment to anti-fascism battling Oswald Mosley's
Blackshirts in the area.
Exclusive to Respect Renewal we have 5 of Philosophy Football's superb
International Brigade British Battalion Banner to be won in our simple
competition. Philosophy Football's complete range of Spanish Civil War
T-shirts are available at Philosophy Football
